Distinguished and respected for her musical education and experience, Artistic Director, Madeleine Humer is not only founder and musical leader of the Victoria Children’s Choir, but also a positive mentor for hundreds of young choristers. As an early music soloist, Ms. Humer has performed with baroque ensembles under such renowned conductors as Ton Koopman and Paul Hillier – an experience that weaves a particularly unique context throughout her teaching and arrangements. For 20 years her children’s and adult choirs have been internationally recognized for their distinctive tonal quality and challenging repertoire. In addition to the Victoria Children’s Choir, Ms Humer is also Music Director for the Saint Christopher Singers.
Emma Gillespie and Madeleine Humer were interviewed by Jo Ann Roberts, CBC Radio 90.5 FM Victoria, just before the “Battles and Laments” concert.
